Who hasn’t heard of Rolex Day-Date watches? Right from the time it was launched in 1956, they have stood out as the epitome of sophistication and elegance.

Why is it called “The President”?
John F. Kennedy wore a Day-Date for a brief while, but it was his successor Lyndon B. Johnson, who owned a 36mm white-dialled yellow gold model that proudly adorned his wrist during his presidency. That is how the model rose to fame and earned the moniker, “The President”.

· American rapper Jay-Z has sported various Rolex Day-Date watches throughout his long career.
· Late actor James Gandolfini, who became a household name playing mobster Tony Soprano flaunted a shining yellow gold Day-Date in the hit series, The Sopranos.
· Chairman & CEO of conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett, has worn the same yellow gold Day-Date for years.
· Golf maestro Jack Nicklaus was presented with the Presidential watch back in 1967, which was the very first timepiece he ever owned. It became a custom to wear it after every tournament he won, thus becoming one of Rolex’s most prominent ambassadors.
